The main task of the EHEDG is the accounting for hygienical construction and design in all fields of the food industry and granting a secure production with this. The EHEDG still supports the European legislation and its requirement according to hygienic treatment, processing and packing of food with the help of hygiene-compatible machines as well as a hygienic environment  (EC-directive 2006/42/EG for machines, EN 1672-2 and EN ISO 14159 for hygienic requirements).
3A - Sanitary Standards - USA

ATEX

The ATEX-standard 94/9/EG defines rules for placing products on the market, which are being applied in potentially explosive areas or are being operated as protection systems beyond the potentially explosive area, but which are important for the safety of explosion-protected equipment.
In this standard minimum regulations for the work protection for potentially explosive areas are defined.
The PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt = Physical Technical Federal Institute) is named as
CE-inspection authority. They examine, respectively authorise electrical and mechanical resources for the application in potentially explosive areas and approve quality assurance-sytems by regular audits.
The basis are the existing CENELEC-norms.
RTN - ROSTECHNANZOR - RUSSIA

RTN-approvals are required for dangerous production processes, as e.g. during inflammable or potentially explosive processes, the use of the corresponding accessory as well as in all other processes that could endanger the health and their environment. It is an admission to use machines and products with the above mentioned features.
GOST-R for customs-purposes - Russia

GOST-certificates are a control-instrument which assure the conformity of the export products with quality standards and regulations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

They are comparable to DIN- and ANSI-norms. The conformity certificate GOST-R is defined for goods that are being delivered to Russia by the company, respectively the importer.

The certificate is being provided by the institutes respectively laboratories for quality assurance that are accredited by ROSTECHREGULATION, the Russian authority for standardisation, metrology and certification. It is being tested if the products fulfil the safety-related requirements according to the Russian norms and regulations. A labelling obligation is mandatory for certified products.
